Life Stories Booklet
Memory is a way
of holding on to the things we loved,
the things we never want to lose.
We can
underestimate the interest our life stories hold for family members, friends,
children and grandchildren.
The accumulated
experiences of a lifetime all add up to making us who we are today and what our
life means to us personally. What has been the meaning of our individual and
unique life on this plant? To find out, start writing down the facts and
stories of your life.

Age Concern
Manawatu has put together a booklet which serves as a template.
At $20 each they provide an easy to follow layout to assemble your memories.

If you don't
happen to have children or grandchildren to pass this on to, do it for yourself,
or with a friend. These stories are always valuable to your community and for
researchers looking back at an earlier time. Think about gifting your story to
your local library, university, council, school or Age Concern, if you do not
have any family members to give them to.
Life Tubes can be
Life Savers ….
|
Let us introduce you to Life
Tubes - a plastic cylinder that contains a sheet with your vital health
information. This tube is kept in a prominent, easily identifiable and
accessible place, such as your refrigerator or the glove box of your car.
In the event of an emergency,
the police, ambulance, fire service, friend or neighbour, will be alerted by
the bright red sticker on the fridge or glove box door advising that vital
information is contained within the life tube.
Both the New Zealand Police
and St John’s Ambulance Service endorse and promote the Life Tube as a
simple life support system, one that could save your life.
A Life Tube will only cost you
$5.00, and that’s pretty good for a potential life saver. |
